Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand is set to announce his arrival as a professional boxer.
Ferdinand, 38, retired from all football back in 2015, after an underwhelming spell with Queens Park Rangers, but will make his return to the sporting arena after various hints on social media.
The Champions League winning centre-back has kept himself in good shape since his retirement and was seen doing pad work with British boxing heroes Anthony Joshua, David Haye and Tony Bellew back in January.
According to The Telegraph, BT Sport pundit Ferdinand will make an official announcement on Tuesday afternoon as he prepares to make waves in the boxing ring.

Ferdinand, who also played for the likes of West Ham United and Leeds United over the course of an esteemed footballing career, will first need to attain a boxing license to fight professionally.

‘Without the gym I don’t know where I would’ve had that release time,’ Ferdinand told Men’s Health in July following the death of his wife Rebecca Ellison.

Old woman in US reveals the secret to long life, see what she tells us.

Grace Jones and her nightly whiskey (Picture: SWNS)
One of the oldest people in the UK has just turned 111, and she claims to owe her amazing longevity to a shot of whiskey each night.
Grace Jones, who has acquired the fitting moniker Amazing Grace, recently celebrated her 111th birthday recently, however she said she doesn’t ‘feel any different than I did at 21’.
It’s not just 60 years of seeing off a whiskey every night that has kept Grace going into her 12th decade.
Her daughter Dierdre, who is approaching her 80th birthday herself, said of her mother: ‘She’s a very positive person and never seems to worry about anything.
‘She’s also very lively and interested in everything and everyone. She loved moving around. She’s the kind of person who cannot understand why anybody would want to live the quiet life.’
This 111-year-old's secret to a long life? One shot of whiskey every night

Grace was born in Liverpool in 1906. She was alive when the Titanic sank and was 12 when WW1 ended.
She even shares the year of her birth with artist Samuel Beckett and actress Mary Astor.
Grace is the 6th oldest person in the UK, the oldest being Bessie Cam from Rotherham who is 113.
As well as seeing more than 100 years of British history, including women gaining the vote, five separate monarchs and two world wars, Grace has also moved home 27 times in her life.
She also said the highlight of her life (so far) was her happy marriage to Leonard, who sadly died in 1986.
And what brand of whiskey does Grace favour each night? She usually goes for Teacher’s Highland Cream, which started being made in 1884, only 22 years before Grace was born, however occasionally she enjoys a Famous Grouse.

Look at this photos and see what you never seen before, two planes perilously close to each other

Was this a 'near miss' or just an optical illusion?

The sight of two passenger jets on top of each other is certainly something you don’t see every day.
The alarming ‘near miss’ was taken by keen plane spotter Chris Hine, 70, as he sat in his garden in Byfleet, Surrey.
Both aircrafts were circling above the retired engineer’s home as they waited in a queue to land at Heathrow.
Mr Hine said he was watching the two planes with added interest as they appeared to be flying a lot closer to each other than normal.
Taking his camera out for a closer look, he caught the moment the two planes looked as if they were flying in sequence.

Despite the high altitude, he could make out one plane was a Virgin Atlantic A340 and the other was a British Airways 787 Dreamliner.
Both these planes would have been travelling with hundreds of passengers on board, the Daily Mail reports.
Mr Hine said: ‘When you think both planes would have been travelling at around 288mph it does make you wonder how safe our crowded skies are.’
UK Aviation Consultant John Hutchinson pointed out that while the planes do look very close there was likely a space of about 1,000 feet between them.
He said: ‘Planes are fitted with excellent alerting systems which ensure they never get too near to one another as well as being closely monitored by Air Traffic Control.
‘It is therefore extremely unlikely that at any point there was any danger of any collision.

The new Samsung phone might offer the best slow-mo filming yet

Time to get slow (Picture: Samsung)
Samsung’s next phone release could let you make slow-motion clips like you’ve never done before.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 (the last one was called the S8, so the next one will probably be the S9), will feature a camera that allows you to film at 1,000fps (frames per second) for super slow motion videos, according to industry rumours.
The iPhone 7 offers 240fps, so videos taken on the upcoming Samsung phone will allow you to make videos more than four times slower than this.
1,000fps is about 40 times slower than real time.
Here’s a clip from beloved Youtubers The Slow Mo Guys which shows you exactly how slow 1,000fps is.

Sony has a patent on the current technology needed to achieve this frame rate, so Samsung might have come up with an entirely new way to achieve slow motion filming in phones.
The Galaxy S8 already has one of the best cameras of any phone available, so if this rumour turns out to be true it could mean Samsung are trying to corner the photography/filmography corner of the mobile phone market.
The S9 is expected to be released around March 2018, but nothing can be confirmed until Samsung themselves announce the new release.
