SO SAD!!! How Hundreds Died During ‘Peaceful’ Protest

protest
Dozens have been killed and injured in Ethiopia’s Oromia region after security forces confronted protesters at a festival, witnesses say.
Some people died in a panicked stampede after police employed tear gas and baton charges, they said.
Thousands had gathered for a religious festival in Bishoftu, 40km (25 miles) from the capital Addis Ababa.
Some reports said police responded after anti-government protesters threw stones and bottles. Others said demonstrators were entirely peaceful.
Ethiopia’s government said in a statement that “lives were lost”, adding: “Those responsible will face justice”.
An Oromo activist, Jawar Mohamed, is quoted as saying nearly 300 people were killed and many more injured. He said troops and a helicopter gunship had opened fire, driving people off a cliff and into a lake.

It’s Time For Nigeria To Have An Elected Female Governor – Obasanjo Speaks Out

obasanjo1
Ex-Nigerian leader, Olusegun Obasanjo has spoken about the prospects of electing the first female governor to pilot the affairs of a state in the country.
Speaking at a book presentation titled “Nigerian Women Pioneers and Icons” written by Prof. Bolanle Awe, the first female lecturer in Nigeria, former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday, said it was time Nigeria had the first elected female governor to pilot the affairs of a state in the country.
The former president who spoke at the event which was held at the MUSON Centre in Lagos Island, Lagos, said the world is witnessing a time where women were taken over the mantle of leadership in several parts of the world, saying that Nigeria should not be an exception.
He cited the example of Britain where a woman had just assumed the mantle of leadership at the topmost hierarchy, while being optimistic that the United States was about to witness the emergency of a female president for the first in the person of Hilary Clinton.
“This is the time for women to reap the labour of these great women of the past,” he said, adding that women in Nigeria were doing extremely well and should be allowed greater involvement in the affairs of the nation.
Obasanjo, who was represented by Dr. Femi Majekodunmi said apart from physical strength which men excelled the women, the female folks were seriously competing with men in other areas and that he believed that it was time the nation produced elected governors.
“Women are patient, women persevered; they are now in many areas. Soon, we will be having elected women governors in Nigeria and soon, women will take over,” he said.

Wife Storms Venue Of Husband’s Wedding To New Girlfriend – You Won’t Believe What Happened Next

fight
There was confusion at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts yesterday after a wife stormed the wedding between her husband and his new lover. The wife identified as Magdalene Chamunorwa showed up at the court in the company of her relatives and thoroughly beat up the said girlfriend.
She revealed to the marriage officer, Mr Tendai Mahwe, that the groom, Gift Singano, was her husband and that they have four children together.
She stormed into the wedding room moments before Singano exchanged vows with his new babe Francisca Kanyama. The drama was taken outside the court building where Magdalene exchanged blows with Francisca, who was still clad in her wedding gown.
The fight happened in full view of Singano who watched helplessly as his wife and lover got down to “business”. Onlookers, who were attending to their court businesses, cheered the fight and accused Kanyama of being a husband snatcher.
“He is my husband and we got married in 1992. I only discovered he wanted to marry his girlfriend when I saw a profile picture of her on his phone. We stay together in our matrimonial house in Crowborough here in Harare but he leaves me in the house and goes to co-habit with his girlfriend in Mufakose,” said the wife.
The man Singano confirmed that he has four children with Magdalene, but submitted that he divorced her five years ago. “We divorced in 2011 because she was too violent and I decided to end the marriage and left the house,” he said.
