Multiple explosions heard in some parts of Maiduguri, Borno state from
last night into this morning, have been identified as multiple suicide
attacks. Three persons including a male and female suicide bomber as
well as a member of the state Civilian Joint Task force, were killed in
the incident.
According to reports, the male suicide bomber was shot dead by troops while he was approaching a security post in Usmanti to detonate a bomb strapped on him. A teenage girl who also had a bomb strapped on her was identified as she made her way to a mosque.
When she was stopped for interrogation, she detonated the bomb, killing herself and a member of the Civilian Joint Task force.
