Two soldiers injured as Udu, Ughievwen youths clash in Delta state over boundary dispute

There is tension in Delta State as some youths from Otor-Udu and Jeremi in Udu and Jeremi (Ughievwen) communities in Udu and Ughelli South Local Government Areas, today clashed over the naming of a filling station in the Area, SPLENSIZY is reporting.
The filling station which is supposed to be commissioned by the Bishop of the whole, St. Dikeji Daniel Miyerijesu is said to be situated in the strong hold of Otor-Udu community but bears sign post of “Ughelli South.”
Trouble started when the Otor-Udu youths staged a peaceful protest calling for the error to be corrected when their Jeremi counterparts allegedly attacked them along the Otor- Udu/Ughelli road with insistence that the land where the filling station is situated belongs to them.
The Otor-Udu youths retaliated until a team of soldiers from the Nigerian Army 222 Battalion in Ughelli stormed the area to quell the crisis and make peace among the people.
The youths however, resisted the soldiers who were at the middle of the crisis as they exchanged blows with each other, using dangerous weapons and in the process allegedly injured two soldiers.
The soldiers made a retreat and staged a comeback to the area as they allegedly shot sporadically into the air to dispersed the violent youths.
The incident caused serious tension as motorists were forced to abandon the road to meander through other routes.
When the Divisional Police Officer of Ovwian/ Aladja Police Divisional Headquarters, CSP Dike Albert Uchechi visited the scene, he told SPLENSIZY, “My friend, I can not talk to you now. There is tension in the area and I and my men are here to restore order to the area. I will talk to you later.
