Sunderland manager, David Moyes, has praised Victor Anichebe for his
impressive display, during their 1-0 win over Watford in the Premier
League on Saturday.
The Nigerian striker missed Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the
Stadium of Light, but was passed fit to make a return against the
Hornets.
It was his eighth start in the league and he came very close to scoring in the 67th minute.
“Victor was immense in the second half and probably turned the game
for us. Pound for pound, he is as good as any,” Moyes said afterwards.
The win was Sunderland’s third in their last four home games and took them off the bottom of the table.
