Why I can’t return home now, by Buhari

Why I can’t return home now, by Buhari
•Says doctors have to okay his release
•Wife, Aisha, urges Nigerians to sustain prayer tempo for president
Only the doctors currently attending to President Muhammadu Buhari in the United Kingdom have the last say on when he can return to Nigeria, according to an update on his vacation yesterday.
The doctors, Buhari said in his February 5 letter to the Senate seeking an extension of his vacation, must be “satisfied that certain factors are ruled out” before he can be let back home.
Online newspaper, Premium Times, published the letter in full yesterday for the first time.
Simultaneously, Wife of the President Aisha Buhari thanked Nigerians for their prayers for the President and asked them to sustain the tempo.
She spoke on her arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from the lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The President’s letter reads: “Further to my letter dated 18th January 2017 in which I notified the Distinguished Senate of taking part of my annual leave.
“During my leave, I took the opportunity to have routine check-ups and consult my long standing doctors in London.
“In the course of the routine examinations, certain test result indicated the need for a course of medications and further appointments have been scheduled for next week.
“I am therefore notifying the Distinguished Senate that I am extending my leave until the doctors are satisfied that certain factors are ruled out. In the circumstances, the vice president will continue to act on my behalf.
“Please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
The medical status of the President remains a top secret.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said last week that only the President can divulge his medical details to whoever he wants.
But he said he had spoken with him and he was doing well.
Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara also confirmed during the week that Buhari spoke with them separately by phone from UK.
They said there was no cause for anxiety on his state of health.
National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and former Interim Chairman of the party, Chief Adebisi Akande last week visited him in London.
Mrs. Buhari whose plane touched down at 3.15pm said: “I want to use this opportunity to thank all Nigerians for the goodwill and support for my husband and Nigeria in general.”
She asked for more.
She said she used the opportunity of the lesser hajj to pray for Nigeria and her leaders.
“We should not relent in prayers and good deed,” she said.
On hand  at the airport to welcome her back home  were  the wife of the Senate President, Mrs Toyin Saraki, former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs Pauline Tallen ; wives of the service chiefs – Mrs Omobolanle Olonishakin, Mrs Ummu Kulthum Buratai, Mrs Theresa Ibok Ibas, , Mrs Hafsat Sadiq and Mrs Asma’u Idris.
Also at the airport were the wives of Kebbi State Governor, Mrs Zainab Bagudu and that of Kogi State, Mrs Rashidat Bello.

A woman tell court she aborted three pregnancies in four years - see what court did

A caterer, Ayodele Oluwakemi, on Friday prayed an Agege
Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve her four-year-old
marriage because her husband forced her to terminate three
pregnancies.
She said that there was also no love lost between her and her
husband, Famurewa Oladimeji.
Oluwakemi, 28, residing at No. 5, Adekanbi Taylor Close,
Okeira in Ogba, Lagos, also stated that her husband was
irresponsible and did not care for her and their three-year-old
daughter.
The petitioner also told court that her husband abandoned her
and the daughter.
She said, “My husband lies a lot. Initially, when I met him,
he lied that he was working, which I found out later was all
lies.
“Whenever I ask him for money, he keeps giving me excuses
and refuses to drop money.
“Later, I became pregnant for him and my husband forced me
to abort it, saying he was not ready financially.”
Oluwakemi disclosed that she had aborted three pregnancies
on the insistence of the respondent, whom she described as
highly irresponsible and lazy.
She said, “He never had an apartment of his own and kept
collecting money from me until I insisted he got a proper job
or business.’’
The petitioner said that when she conceived of their only
child, her father refused her husband’s marriage proposal, until
he got an apartment of his own.
She said, “Whenever I call him, he always told me that he
will call me back, which he never did.”
She begged court to terminate the marriage, saying that she
wanted to move on with her life and also wanted the
respondent to be responsible for the upkeep of their child.
Oladimeji, 34, a businessman, however denied the allegations
but said that he no longer loved Oluwakemi, pleading with
court to dissolve the marriage.
He alleged that when Oluwakemi took in for him, her father
threatened to kill him.
He said, “I accepted to take up responsibility when my wife
became pregnant. My family and I went with the marriage
proposal but her father refused to attend to us.’’
Oladimeji said that he felt his wife’s father refused his proposal
because he didn’t have a good job.
He said, “My wife’s parents do not accord me the proper
respect as their daughter’s husband. They disregard me and
call me all sorts of names.’’
He said that his father-in-law had prevented him from seeing
his child.
He said, “My father in-law threatened me to stay away from
my wife and also stopped me from seeing my child.’’
The President of the court, Mr Phillips Williams, admonished
the estranged couple and scolded the petitioner for terminating
three pregnancies.
Williams adjourned the case till February 28 for hearing.

The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha will not speak on
the health condition of her husband and will not respond to whether
the images trending in the social media are recent ones or not.
This is the position of the Director of Information in the Office of
Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna reports that with the release of photographs containing the National Leader of the All Progressives
Congress, (APC) Bola Tinubu; the founding Interim Chairman of
the party, Chief Bisi Akande; and President Muhammadu Buhari in
London indicating that the President is ‘hale and hearty ‘, several
Nigerians have taken to the social media to question the authenticity
of the images.
We gathered that the key sentiments shared by the public
were those of doubt and disbelief.
According to many commentators, Buhari could not have donned
the same garb he wore when he reportedly received Ogun state
governor, Ibikunle Amosun a fortnight ago.
Others said they will not believe any of the images released by the
presidency to prove that Buhari is vacationing in high spirits
pending the completion of his routine medical check-up, unless he
addresses the nation through a short video.
