More revelations have emerged on the real reason music star, Innocent Ujah Idibia, otherwise known as 2face canceled his planned nationwide protest.
2baba shocked many of his fans when he took to his Instagram page to announced the cancellation of the much-talked about protest, citing security concerns.
However, findings by reporters revealed that his mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia was behind the cancellation of the protest.
The singer had announced few weeks ago that he would be leading other entertainers to a nationwide protest to draw the attention of the relevant authorities to the untold hardship the current administration has subjected the nation to.
Following the announcement, the federal government warned him to rather express his grievances via a national broadcast instead of organizing a protest at a time the security situation in the nation was unstable.
The Lagos State police command had also vowed to stop the protest, claiming that the singer never took permission from them.
An insider hinted this newspaper that 2face’s mum who doubles as Vice Principal at Cherryfield College, Jikwoyi Abuja warned his son to hands off the protest.
“His mum was behind the cancellation of the protest. She was angry because 2baba (Innocent) never asked for her opinion before he went on air to announce the protest. His mother summoned him and asked him to call it off because he has nothing to gain from it, rather he would buy enemies for himself,” a source said.

Saudi Arabian Diplomat to Be Flogged for Molesting a Young Girl

A Saudi diplomat has been sentenced to a caning by a judge in Singapore for allegedly molesting a hotel intern.

Bander Yahya A Alzahrani, who works for the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Beijing, faces four strokes of the stick after being found guilty of groping the 20-year-old woman in an en-suite bathroom.

Caning is legal for sexual abuse, vandalism and rioting offenders, as well as for foreigners who have overstayed visas by more than 90 days.

The same corporal punishment can be dished out for convicts in Mr Alzahrani’s native Saudi Arabia.

According to the Straits Times, the court heard the father of three was on holiday with his family when he started kissing the intern on her neck and face in a Sentosa hotel on 14 August last year.

The popular island resort attracts around 20m people each year and boasts a 2km-long sheltered beach, two golf courses, 14 hotels and a Universal Studios theme park.

The 39-year-old was convicted of molesting her on two occasions, and during the second time, forcing her to touch him.

Conte not happy with Giroud’s goal against Chelsea in 3-1 win

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has expressed his displeasure after his side allowed Olivier Giroud score a consolation goal in their 3-1 win in their Premier League clash on Saturday

The Blues were well on their way to three points, thanks to a three-goal lead courtesy of Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, before Giroud pulled one back in the 90th minute through a header.

Although Conte was pleased with the three points, he called on his team to improve their concentration throughout the game.

“I’m pleased for our win but disappointed by the goal we conceded,” he said.

“It’s a pity. It’s so important to improve and keep the concentration in the right way from the start until the end. We conceded some chances to Arsenal – but we also created our own chances.”

Conte also said his players deserve all the recognition they are getting.

“It was a good game – it wasn’t easy,” Conte added.

“Arsenal are a good team with technical players. We played with good intensity and organisation – both offensively and defensively. I’m pleased for all my players – they deserve it because in training I see great attitude.”

Mourinho says Manchester United cannot buy rivals’ best players like Bayern Munich

Manchester United, Jose Mourinho, has taken a dig at Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, for always buying players from their major rivals, so they can win the league title.

Mourinho admits that United used to try to weaken their competitors during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era at the club, but says it is no longer possible in the Premier League.

“That is the new football. When previously you were speaking about Sir Alex Ferguson’s time, this is not Germany,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

“In Germany, Bayern Munich start winning the league in the summer. They go to Borussia Dortmund every year and buy their best player. One day they go there and get Robert Lewandowski. The next year, they go there, Mario Gotze. The next year they go there, Mats Hummels. So they win the league in the summer.

“Do you think I can go to Tottenham and bring two Tottenham players to kill Tottenham? I cannot. I cannot go to Arsenal and bring the two best Arsenal players. I cannot go to Chelsea and bring two of the players that I love very very much. That time is over.

“That time is over so the situation of starting being champion by attacking your direct opponents in this country is over. It is over and if you get a player from these clubs, you get a player that club does not want to keep. You cannot hurt any more your direct opponents.

“Obviously Real Madrid sell who they want to sell, Barcelona sell who they want to sell, Bayern Munich sell who they want to sell, Paris Saint-Germain sell who they want to sell. So then it is more difficult to have a very good market.”
