Trump’s inauguration: APC attacks Fayose for mocking Buhari, says he lacks understanding of international politics

fayose court
The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has lambasted the state governor, Ayodele Fayose for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari over his non-invitation to the inauguration of Donald Trump as the President of the United States of America, USA.
Recall that Fayose had mocked the President, saying his non-invitation to Trump’s inauguration is an indication that he has lost his international popularity.
But the state chapter of the party in a statement on Sunday by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, described Fayose as a “reckless interloper and shameless busy-body” who dabbles into matters he has no competence in order to present a larger-than-life image of himself.
Olatunbosun maintained that the governor was a man who lacked the deep understanding of international politics and diplomacy and who had “elevated gangsterism, hooliganism and thuggery to an act of political valour”.
The statement said, “Because Fayose is not educated enough to understand the dynamics and perspectives of international politics and diplomacy, he has reduced the American international and diplomatic politics to the beer parlour politics of muscle-flexing he runs in Ekiti State where all issues are trivialised and individualised for personal benefits to the detriment of the greater good of the people.
“It is a pity that an uninformed upstart is the one calling the shots in the Land of Honour in Ekiti State where knowledge-based information and integrity are the fountains of our development.
“Fayose does not have this, hence he was uninformed about the information in public space that Heads of States and Governments across the globe had no need to attend Trump’s inauguration in Washington but would be represented by their heads of missions in America.
“Apparently not aware of this information and unwilling to be educated on the new American policy thrust, Fayose rolled out the drums in ignorance to celebrate the absence of the President of his country on that important world stage.”
Olatunbosun noted that Fayose’s inadequacies and garrulous conduct did not represent the collective attitude of Ekiti people.
He said, “Nigerians should see Fayose as lacking in Ekiti finesse and, therefore, should be seen as an unblemished poster boy of what he is generally known for all over the world as can be explained in many alleged criminal cases hanging on his neck in courts and the agencies of government, which does not represent the image of Ekiti people in the context of national politics.
“Because of Fayose’s moral nature and value that reeks of boisterous and violent essence of a street life, it has become practically impossible to purge him of always trivialising honourable and responsible political opposition platform that he has turned to the column of fools and plateau for jejune jesters.”

expired pdts
A 28-year-old woman, Nnenna Sunday, has been arrested by the police in Abia State for allegedly using chemicals to erase batch production numbers and expiry dates on goods she sold.
The police paraded the suspect before newsmen on Saturday at the state police headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Adeleye Oyebade, who paraded the suspect, her arrest was part of the command’s determination to continue the implementation of the anti-crime strategies which are proactive in nature and geared towards ensuring a safe and secured environment for inhabitant of the state.
The CP said, “The arrest reiterated our readiness to sustain the fight against heinous criminal activities by improving on the existing security strategies which include visibility policing, raiding of criminal hideouts, intelligence led policing amongst many others.
“The crime is very serious as it endangers the lives of the buyers of the expired products,” he said, adding that the suspect would be charged to court on completion of investigation.
But the suspect claimed she was innocent of the crime.
According to her, she was only obeying the orders of her boss.
Ms. Sunday said, “I did not do anything. They have been doing it before I came. I am not the first or the second. I do not understand this type of temptation.
“My hands are clean. Police saw us wiping out the expiry dates on the snacks and it is my oga (boss) that asked me to do it because that is how he has been doing it before he employed me.
“I joined the company recently and do not know my boss very well,” she added.

(EFCC).
Mrs. Alison-Madueke is earmarked for trial for corruption.

These include a block of 6 unit service apartments on Awolowo Road,
Ikoyi,Lagos;six units of terrace flats in Yaba, Lagos;twin four-bedroom
duplexes in Lekki Phase I ,Lagos;two duplexes in Banana Island,Lagos;a duplex in Asokoro District, Abuja;a mini-estate in Mabushi, Abuja;a set of 12 terrace duplexes at Omaremi Street, Port Harcourt;a large expanse of land at Oniru, Victoria Island in Lagos;a multi-billion Naira estate in Yenagoa,Lagos;two apartments in Dubai marked as J5 Emirates Hills (30million Dirham); E146 Emirates Hills valued at 44million Dirham;a hotel in Port Harcourt under investigation.
Attached to the inventory were video clips of the properties, sources said.
A team of EFCC detectives was on standby yesterday to proceed to London to interrogate the ex-minister.
Sources familiar with her investigation by the EFCC told The Nation that all the evidence gathered by the anti-graft agency on Diezani had been handed over to UK investigators.
The Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu accompanied by some detectives took the evidence to the National Crime Agency in the UK.
“The evidence includes an inventory of more than 15 choice properties at home and abroad, her account status, documents and vital video clips,” the source said.
“The evidence was taken to London in preparation for her trial. In fact,
one or two persons indicted in the fuel subsidy scandal are already in
detention in the UK ahead of her trial.
Responding to a question, the source added: “We are also sending some EFCC detectives to the UK to interrogate Diezani on some issues. We need to obtain her statement too on certain allegations against her in Nigeria.
“We learnt that she has substantially ‘recovered’ and we want our team to interview her in London.
“When the trial begins, Nigerians will have a full insight into our
findings against the ex-minister.”
Continuing, the EFCC source said: “We have placed some of these properties under temporary asset forfeiture. We are still investigating some properties allegedly bought by the ex-minister through some proxies.
“But we have submitted a documentary on all these assets to investigators in the UK. We also discovered a box which was full of jewellery and expensive wrist watches in one of the properties with price tags.
“Some detectives who visited Nigeria from the UK inspected this box which we may transfer to the UK.
“On the $115million poll bribery scandal, we have video clips of how
electoral officials and politicians were hauling cash from banking halls.
EFCC does not engage in personal vendetta. Nigerians will know the truth at the end of the trial either in Nigeria or in the UK.”

Northern state governors persecuting Christians by demolishing churches – CAN

can-nigeria2
The Northern West zone of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Saturday raised alarm over alleged plot to annihilate the Christian community in the region through continuous demolition of churches.
The alarm was raised by the zonal Chairman of CAN, Bishop David Bakare.
Worried by the continuous demolition of churches, Bakare asked, “Do we still have rights to exist as a church in northern Nigeria? Is religion still part of the fundamental human rights guaranteed by the United Nations and our own Nigerian constitution? Do we have any right to practice our religion where we live?
“We need to be told all these things for us to know what is illegal and legal.”
Bakare claimed that on January 11, 2017, “two churches were demolished in Jigawa State capital, Dutse. They included The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Renewal Ministry. These are big churches.
“The reason for the demolition was that the buildings were located in residential areas though the said buildings have been on that same position for well over 17 years.
“Besides that, there are also mosques in these same locations. How come the churches were demolished and the mosques were not demolished? Beyond this, it is important to note that five more churches have been marked for further demolition in the same location.
“The worst part of the matter is that the churches were not notified either in writing or any other form for an intended demolition. They were simply there to see caterpillars which began to demolish their churches.”
The clergy man, while dismissing‎ claim that the church buildings were pulled down because they were located on residential areas, wondered why the residential houses attached to the churches were also demolished.
He said, “There are even personal houses attached to these buildings, like the Chosen Church has three bedrooms flats. The Redeemed had another one.
“The churches were demolished alongside the residential houses. All these issues beg for answers, particularly issues that have to do with religion at a time like this in Nigeria. The Christian Association of Nigeria, particularly in the North West is worried because this same time last year, churches were demolished in Zamfara. Anglican churches, Catholic churches were demolished for similar excuses and nothing has happened and barely one year after, another set is being demolished in Jigawa.
“There is crisis going on in Southern Kaduna; who knows where and what is going to happen to who next and where. CAN in North West Nigeria is asking that should the churches in the region go extinct because we are Christiane? Do we still have rights to exist as a church in northern Nigeria?
“How come nobody is giving answers to these matters? How come its now a yearly ritual to demolish churches built with hard earned money for years. In any case, is religion still part of the fundamental human right guaranteed by the United Nations and our own Nigeria constitution? Do we have any right to practice our religion where we live?
“We need to be told all these things for us to know what is illegal and legal.
“It is time to stop this yearly ritual of demolishing churches in the north west Nigeria.
“We are peace loving people. We want to live in peace and we need somebody to tell us what we have done wrong. As citizens we need to know what exactly is the reason why before demolition, during demolition after demolition, nobody is told what is happening.
“Uptill now, the government of Jigawa State has refused to meet the Christian leaders to discuss the matter in any form.
“These things are begging for questions and they are becoming too worrisome for us in North West Nigeria. We appeal to the authority to note that these are dangerous times that can worsen the situation that Nigeria is already going through and everybody responsible for these need to be called to order.”
