Wema Bank Launches Solar-Powered Mobile Branch


Wema Bank Plc says it has launched a solar-powered mobile branch to make banking services available to everyone in all parts of the country.


Mr Damola Bolodeoku, the bank’s Head of eBusiness, in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, said the mobile branch was fitted with two automated teller machines (ATM).

According to Bolodeoku, the mobile branch tagged: “Wema Bank on Wheels”, will bring convenient banking services to Nigerians at their door step in line with global best practices, using technology.

“We are taking banking services to Nigerians, no matter where they are.

“Being an environmentally-responsible company, our mobile branch is powered by solar energy – a first in the Nigeria’s banking industry.

“Banks around the world have often used mobile banking vehicles as a cost-effective service delivery channel as competition becomes stiffer.

“As such, every financial institution strives to provide their customers with the latest technology-driven services,” Bolodeoku said.

Kemi Aina, Head, Customer Service Management, said the recent closure of the bank’s branch in Abule Egba due to road construction fast-tracked the mobile services.

Aina stressed that “Wema Bank on Wheels’’ would help to reach Nigerians who missed out through “our internet banking and USSD banking services.”

Ahmadu Bello University Agricultural Colleges 1st Batch Admission List Released 2016/2017.


This is to inform the general public especially candidates who applied for admission in the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria agricultural colleges that the first batch admission list is out for the 2016/2017 academic session.




The following candidates have been offered provisional admissions into the HND, ND, Pre-ND and Certificate programmes of the Division of Agricultural Colleges for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.

All admitted candidates should report to their various Colleges as from Last Monday, 3rd January, 2017.

Each candidate should bring along the originals of his/her credentials for purpose of registration as follows:
i) Original and photocopies of certificates listed in the application forms
ii) Four (4) recent passport size photographs
iii) Birth certificate or Declaration of Age Certificate
iv) Local Government Indigene Certificate
v) Evidence of sponsorship (if any)
vi) Medical Certificate from Government Hospital

Meet The 19-Year-Old Nigerian Who Helped Everton Demolish Manchester City. Photos


Ademola Lookman has scored his first goal for Everton as he made his debut for the English team yesterday. Lookman who was born in London, and is of Nigerian descent sealed a comprehensive victory for Everton over Man City as the match ended 4-0.
The 19-year-old winger who started on the bench for the home side, came on to grab the fourth goal despite being on the pitch for little more than added time.


After the match Lookman stated in a brief chat that he played to instructions from the his Coach.He said: “The gaffer said I should play behind Romelu Lukaku and I was lucky to anticipate the ball.”

The new Everton winger was signed from Charlton for £11million last week.
