Jega blast universities producing bread, ‘pure water’

Former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has criticized universities for engaging in bread and sachet water production to generate funds.
Jega, who is the Pro-Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos, spoke at the opening of the three-day 2016 Nigerian Higher Education Summit on Monday in Abuja.
Acknowledging that the crisis of funding in Nigerian universities is acute, Jega insisted that the primary responsibility of funding universities is that of government.

He said, “Putting universities in such a dire situation where they have to be doing things like producing and selling sachet water is sad; frankly, it is not the business of universities.
“We want young unemployed youths to be involved in such entrepreneurial activities to generate income for themselves and to build businesses.
“For a university to become in dire and desperate need for money as to bake bread and produce sachet water is unwholesome and needs to be discouraged.
“Government needs to provide sufficient funding to universities.”

He said universities were in the business of knowledge production and should strive to produce patents or prototypes which they could engage Nigerian industries to manufacture.
Jega added that it is unhealthy for universities to be struggling to generate funds to carry out their mandates.
On ASUU strike, the former INEC boss called for mutual respect between the Federal Government and the unions.
“It is important for government to bend over backwards and it is important for unions to be realistic in their demands in order to find solutions,” he said.

Fake soldier nabbed selling stolen phone in Bauchi [PHOTOS]

A fake soldier, identified as Adam Alexander has been nabbed by men of the Nigerian Army in Bauchi State.
The 22-year-old was arrested weekend by the 33 Artillery Brigade in the state while trying to sell a stolen phone.
The Army’s Deputy Director of Media, Captain Sunday Akinkunmi, paraded the fake soldier who has been wearing military uniform to terrorize and rob people.

Akinkunmi said the fake soldier is an indigene of Maiduguri, Borno State.
“He was arrested in the Wunti market wearing a fake camouflage, while trying to sell a stolen Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phone for N70, 000,” he said.

South African pastor sprays insecticide on members to heal them [PHOTOS]

South African pastor, Lethebo Rabalango, during his sermon at the weekend, summoned members of his congregation who needed deliverance and sprayed insecticide in their eyes.
The controversial pastor and founder of Mount Zion General Assembly who had in the past allegedly killed one of his members after he put a speaker on top of her body to prove God’s power, , sprayed his members’ faces, legs and hands with an insect killer.
According to him, he was performing ‘healing miracle.’

How T B Joshua inserted pepper into a lady’s vagina over ‘fornication’ – Ex- Synagogue pastor alleges (VIDEO)

A former pastor with the synagogue Church of All Nation has revealed how the founder of the ministry, Prophet T B Joshua nearly killed him while serving under him.
The estranged member of the church revealed that the man of God is so heartless that he subjects pastors under him to untold hardship by flogging them with horse whip, otherwise known as ‘koboko’ at any slightest mistake.
He recalled how he was forced to accuse a lady of committing fornication; and the man of God allegedly grinded pepper and inserted it into her private part.

The pastor in a 20-minute footage recalled how he bought four wheelchairs for the church, which were used in performing fake miracles.
He said, “When I joined the Synagogue Church many years ago, I thought I had met a saviour but unfortunately, I never knew was on a journey into hell.
“In 1997 after I went for a crusade in Ghana I became so close to him (Joshua) following my performances and I was subsequently asked to join the Disciples.
“I was gradually brain washed never to eat meat, fish and many things, I fact, I was gradually introduced into humiliating peoples.

“I remember a time when we had to wrongly accuse a lady of committing fornication and she was brought to the Disciples stack naked and pepper
as grinded, mixed with water and inserted into her vagina.”
The controversial preacher came under heavy criticisms following his recent prophecy that Hillary Clinton of the Democrat would win the just concluded presidential election in the US.
But his prediction hit the cross bar as Donald Trump of the Republican was eventually declared winner.
