I am ready for a new husband –KSB

How time flies. It is already ten years since popular gospel singer, Kenny Saint Best, parted ways with her ex-husband, Eddy Remedy but now the singer is ready to walk down the aisle again.
In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the singer said having stayed as a single mother for a decade, she is ready to give marriage another shot. According to her, this month makes it 10 years since she took a walk from her former marriage.
She told Saturday Beats that the pact she had with God is to have a man by her side by the time she marks her 50th birthday.
She said, “I told God that when I am doing my 50th birthday, there must be a man beside me. That is the deal I struck with God. It is exactly ten years that I have been single, so I am ready now. I was waiting for my children to grow and become teenagers so that I would have given them all of my time so that there would not be divided attention between them and the new daddy or husband. Now I am through with all that, I am ready for a new husband.”
The singer who said it had not been easy praised God who has given her the grace to see her through trying times.
“It has been the ‘mega’ grace of God for me to do all I am involved with and still be a single mother. I ask myself if I am human sometimes because I combine a lot of things together. As we speak, I am at a rehearsal and before I left home, I had to make lunch, do the laundry and I would still check my children’s homework because their exam is coming up. I cannot afford to delegate duties when it comes to my children. What you want to see in the future is what you put in the picture now, so I can never be too busy for my children and my ministry. I am a church girl to the core. It has been the grace of God,” she said.
However, while many gospel singers frown against collaborating with secular singers, KSB, welcomes them with open arms. So far, she has collaborated with the likes of the late Da Grin, Terry G, MI, Ice Prince, to mention a few.
In a chat with Saturday Beats, the singer said that although she has been condemned a lot for featuring secular musicians in her songs, she is only doing the bidding of God.
She said, “The condemnation I have got from people because I collaborate with secular musicians has been ‘mega’ but there is an adage in Yoruba that says, ‘when you are commissioned to do a job, it is who sent you that you revere and not the person you are to deliver the message to’. This is because you are answerable to the person that gave you the assignment. In my case, such condemnation was expected but they were not the one that gave me the assignment. If God gives you an assignment and you carry it out, your reward is from the person that gave you the assignment.
“When I was singing praise, it was the assignment I got. When I was to do evangelistic music and also street-gospel, it was the assignment given to me that I was following. I am not answerable to anybody but God and since I am answerable to Him, my reward would come from Him and not man. I was able to take gospel music to some corners that other gospel musicians might not. I gave people songs that they could play beyond Sunday morning; people thanked me for providing gospel songs that can be played anytime and was not limited to just Sunday mornings. There were vacuums to be filled and I filled them; through that, the reward came along and heaven smiled on me. You just have to know your assignment and you have to be rugged and dogged about it.”
The multiple-award winning singer who hasn’t staged a church concert for about a decade told Saturday Beats that the reason is because she has faced other aspects of her ministry. She however spoke about her forthcoming concert and what fans should expect.
“For the first time, I would have an all-female worshippers on the line-up of my concert. Also, most of the female worshippers are lead singers from different churches. Many people do not know that Yinka Davies is a worshipper but she would be present to thrill the crowd on that day. My back-up singers of about 17 years ago would share the stage with me; the likes of Essence, Monique, Bola. They are all superstars now but we would share the stage together,” KSB said

Why Buhari’s anti- corruption war will fail – PDP BoT member

buhari33
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, says President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-graft agency cannot succeed because “he is using corruption to fight corruption.”
Reacting to Buhari’s comment, Oyedokun said the President has admitted failure of his anti-graft agency.
Speaking with the Punch, the PDP BoT member said, “If the President, who is fighting corruption, suddenly discovers that people who have stolen are using the proceeds of corruption to fight him, I think it is an admission of failure. Corruption cannot be fought with corruption.
“The President must be able to fish out those fighting him with corruption and ensure they are tried. There are allegations of corruption among those that surround the President and his party members.
“He (Buhari) won’t succeed because he is using corruption to fight corruption. When someone loses a horse and he unknowingly tells the person that stole the horse to help him find the horse, would the owner ever find the horse?.”

How army arrested supporters, thugs of AD governorship candidate, Oke with weapons [PHOTOS]

More facts have emerged on how men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Owena Barracks in Akure, the Ondo State capital arrested 10 political thugs of the Governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy [AD], Chief Olusola Oke with a bus loaded with ammunitions along Okitipupa Ore axis in Ondo State.
It was on Friday that rumour broke out that Oke was arrested along with his boys but military sources confirmed to DAILY POST that only his political boys were apprehended at the military checkpoint.
According to a military source, who does not want his name mentioned due to the sensitive nature of the matter, ” the bandits were arrested with guns, cutlasses, uniforms, live cartridges, an AD Toyota bus, press Identification cards among others.
It was learnt that the suspects left Oke’s house at Ijapo in Akure on Friday morning and they were heading to Ilaje, where Oke is expected to hold a rally.
It was also gathered that the suspects were picked when the soldiers, who checked their vehicles discovered the ammunitions.
Another Military source said, “Immediately we stopped the vehicle, they called themselves pressmen but we were curious that how can pressmen be driving a customized AD vehicle.
“It was then we asked them to allow us to search the vehicle and we discovered all these ammunitions loaded in the bus. They were immediately arrested and we transferred them to our headquarters in Akure.
But, Oke through his media aide, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, said he was not arrested at any time by either the military of any other law enforcement agent
He accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being the sponsor of the rumour, adding however that the campaign of calumny peddled against him only made him more popular.
He stated further that, “as I talk to you now, Chief Olusola Oke is in Mahin in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State canvassing for the support of the people of the area in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.”
According to him, both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the PDP in the state are intimidated by the rising popularity of Oke, hence their resolve to blackmail and other mischievous acts aimed at soiling his reputation.
“Oke is a responsible citizen of Nigeria and he has been moving round the state since he launched his campaign. He left Akure this morning for Ilaje Local Government and he had met with different people there.”
“By the way, why will oke be arrested when he did not commit any offence? He did not carry arms, neither did he carry ammunition. The rumour was the handiwork of his detractors whose aim was to soil the good reputation he has built over the years,” he added.
He said “the PDP resolved to peddle the rumour of Oke’s arrest and use the social media to circulate the rumour as a result of the court of the indefinite adjournment given by the Court of Appeal in Abuja. The PDP led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko is afraid of Olusola Oke, especially with the court decision which did not favour them, hence the baseless rumour.”
He noted that the rumour was baseless and has no iota of truth, enjoining members of the public, especially residents of the state to discountenance it in its entirety.
“Oke is a free Nigerian and he will return to AKure today to meet with his co-ordinators. This is to tell you that he was not arrested by any agency of government,” he stated.
