PDP names Iorhemba new Deputy National Secretary

The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has named the former National Legal Adviser of the Party, Dave Iorhemba, as the new Deputy National Secretary.
This was made known through a statement by Dayo Adeyeye, the Party’s National Publicity Secretary.
According to the statement, “the Decision was taken without prejudice but in view of the fact that the National Caretaker Committee (NCC) is no longer too pressured with legal matters since the Supreme Court Judgement of`July 12, 2017, that led the PDP to victory but instead, requires extra hand in the running of administration ahead of the forthcoming Electoral National Convention.
“In view of the above, Rt. Hon. Barr. Dave Iorhemba has been re-assigned to serve as the Deputy National Secretary with effect from Wednesday, 28 September, 2017. Also, the National Chairman, Sen Ahmed Makarfi, CON, has appointed the Immediate Past National Legal Adviser, Kwon Victor, Esq as his Special Adviser (Legal Affairs).
“This clarification became necessary to correct misconceptions and contradictory narratives in some sections of the media.
“The PDP is one big family and every member is enjoined to participate in the rebuilding and repositioning processes to move our great Party forward.”

Kidnappers make shocking demand on Edo musician, Osayomore Joseph


Abductors of Edo State-born popular musician, Osayomore Joseph, have made contact with the family, demanding the sum of N200m as ransom.
We reports that Ambassador Joseph was kidnappedin his house at Orovie village, Upper Ekenhuan road, Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Vanguard quoted a close family source as saying that “the family has been contacted, but honestly the money they are talking about is outrageous.
“It is not affordable because there is no way the family can find that kind of money. Osayomore is just managing his life right now and does not have such money.
“We are only appealing that they should free him unhurt. The family is not rich; they are only managing just like any other Nigerian. We are begging them to see reasons and release him because his health is not in the best state.”
The Edo State Police spokesman, Moses Nkombe, said the Police were doing all it could to ensure freedom of the victim.

3 Muslim clerics nabbed with fresh, dried human body parts

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three self-acclaimed Muslim clerics with fresh and dried human body parts suspected to be used rituals purposes.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ilyasu, who paraded the suspects on Sunday at the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, headquarters in Abeokuta said they would be charged for alleged ritual murder.
Ilyasu, who gave the identities of the trio as Adebayo Mudashiru (36), Raheed Abass (33) and Rasaq Adenekan (42), said: “they were caught with fresh and dried human parts, human skull, reptiles and assorted charms.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects were discovered to be serial killers, with their operational office located at number 6 Baase compound, Totoro, Abeokuta.”
The three suspects while speaking with journalists said they engaged in the rituals to help solve their clients’ problems.

Man burnt to death for stealing phone in Rivers State Nigeria

A young man was on Sunday lynched to death in Choba community in Obio-Akpor Local Government area of Rivers State for stealing a phone.
The youth in his late twenties, identified as Chile Promise was lynched by a mob after accusing him of being a member of a three-man gang that robbed an apartment within Owhipa.
The lynching of Chile angered other youths who took to the streets and attacked everyone on sight in Choba.
SPLENSIZY  reports that security operatives have been deployed to control the tension that has remained high in the area.
A youth leader in Choba community who spoke to our correspondent on the development said it took the intervention of security operatives to calm the situation after hours of shooting.
