Hey! Stop that fashion blunder

Looking good is good business! A typical lady loves to be complimented and appreciated for her looks, and most especially her fashion sense, however, a lot of ladies in the process of dressing up are fond of making too many fashion blunders which is a total eyesore.
Of a truth, a well-thought out and planned fashion style makes you unique and sexy, however, going to extremes just to prove a point makes it a NO.
Generally, guys feel uncomfortable when their ladies are not dressed appropriately and fit for an occasion. My sister, it’s so not cool when you dress up and your bra straps are dropping off like a leave that fell off from its branch or your pant colour showing like a bulb light covered with a white handkerchief…trust me the guy will be so turned off.
Are you not tired of being jeered at on the road for one or two silly but avoidable fashion mistakes? If you are not, I’m tired of seeing blunders that are bad enough to make me go blind.
Check out these simple tips to prevent you from making those blunders.

1. Underwears

Underwear
Underwear

Don’t wear see-through leggings and hot pink or shouty yellow underwears. Surely it will always be obvious, but even if you are 100% certain that your leggings aren’t too obvious, don’t wear that faded pants in your closet with your tightest pair and a shirt that doesn’t cover things up.
If you so badly want to rock your leggings do well to put on an underwear that won’t show through your leggings.
For a bra, do not put on a regular bra with a top that doesn’t cover so much; this gives you an incomposed look, for example, tops like a racerback, tank top or a funky backless top. It drifts peoples attention away from how hot that top looks rather they see more of your bra straps.
If you are so much in love with backless tops and racerbacks , then, go with a backless bra or a raceback bra.

2. High heels

Putting on heels either gives you a corporate look, professional look or classic look. Whichever look you are in for, ensure that the heels you are rocking are perfect match for the clothes you are putting on.
When shopping for heels do not buy heels that are uncomfortable for you or are too tight. Wearing an uncomfortable heel could spoil your day, give you less of the confidence you want and cause terrible pain in your ankle region.
Do buy a comfortable lower heel that make your legs look rocking and gives more sexiness to your legs. Sacrifice some inches to be comfortable and look confident.

3. Clothes that are too small

While shopping for clothes, ensure you go for the right size. Don’t buy a shirt that is too small and shows off all your insecurities. Instead go for your right body size that covers those insecurities but still make you look awesome.
Stop hoarding those clothes that no longer fit you. You could choose to sow them as a seed into someone’s life. But if you are the type that doesn’t give, you could keep them and use them to motivate yourself if you want to shed off some weights.

4. Crop tops and low-rise jeans

Crop tops and low-rise jeans

Right from the era of crop tops, this has been a constant mistake. We know you have a wonderful body but showing off those hairs on your tummy could be disgusting at some point. Why put on a crop top with a low -rise jean when there is high waisted jean?
The right combo for a crop top is a high waisted jean. So whenever that idea of putting on a low waisted jeans with a crop top comes up all in the name of showing off some skin shake it off your head and throw it into the refuse bin. Low-rise jeans look great with flowy, or at least longer, tops.

5. Colour contrast

Putting on a red top on a red trouser or skirt is not always a good idea.
The best way of dressing is contrasting your colours. Contrast colours really look good and gives each of the colour an avenue to pop.
Playing on colours could be a fun thing while dressing but don’t go overboard.
Monochrome is a look best left to the runways, but if you decide to rock a monochrome, be sure to rock it stylishly!
I consider all these tips to be simple tips that one could easily learn. Remember while shopping, shop wisely. Shop like one who wants to dress like a lady, not just an ordinary lady but a lady with class.

We trek 100 km to hospital, Kaduna village residents lament

Residents of Maiyola, a community of 3,000 residents in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have said that they lose an average of one pregnant woman monthly due to absence of antenatal services.
The residents said in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they also lose a lot of children under five due to absence of healthcare services.
A housewife, Salamatu Haruna, said: “Women here rarely attend antenatal or visit hospitals for check up during pregnancy or delivery.
“I don’t go for antenatal services during my pregnancies because of the distance between our village and the nearest place to get hospital services which is Kachia or Idoh and is about 100 kilometres from here.’’
She also said that the village have no good road to allow for smooth ride on motorcycles for women in labour.
“For us to access health care we have to use motorcycles, as such women here deliver at home with the help of traditional birth attendants.
“We do not have good road here and one cannot easily get cars or motorcycles, sometimes we trek, and when a woman is in labour in the night it becomes more difficult to even contemplate going to hospital.
“Eleven pregnant women have died this year from labour complications,’’ the woman said.
Another housewife, Hafsat Abubakar said, “anytime I am pregnant, it comes with fever and since there is no hospital close by, I prefer to stay at home and take local herbs as it is our culture.
“I know four women close to me that lost their lives in the process of child birth here in the village.
“We prefer to patronise traditional birth attendants because that’s the only option we have here in Mayola.’’
Zainab Abubakar, another resident, said she go for antenatal but not frequently, because of the distance and poor transport service.
The woman said she patronise a local patent medicine store wherever she felt ill.
Another woman, Zainab Musa, said five of her relatives died during childbirth in the community this year.
“I give birth at home because my mom is a traditional birth attendant and the culture here is when it is time for you to give birth you go to your parents house and not your husband house.’’
However, Mariam Mayola, who shared her experience, said she once attended antenatal services and was asked to go for scanning in Kaduna and had to spend a lot of money on that.
“Accessing health care services here is very difficult for us, because some of us also feel lazy when you think of trekking to Crossing before going to Kachia or Idoh to access health services.’’
A 60-year-old woman, Maryam Mayola, noted that women suffer a lot during childbirth in the community in addition to huge expenses incurred in the process.
A husband, Mohammed Adamu, said the ordeals women go through in the village during child birth were regrettable.
“I remember the day I took my wife to hospital during childbirth and before reaching there she lost her life.
“These are some of the ordeals our women go through. She really suffered on that day before she and the baby died.
“So we are very happy to see you in this community because we have never seen journalists face to face but here you are in our community,’’ Adamu said.
Also speaking, the village head, Ardo Abu Maiyola, expressed concern that they had never received any government official in the 40-year history of the village.
“We hope your visit will bring development to this community.
“On the issue of health or pregnant women, honestly our women do suffer a lot during childbirth, in fact, anytime our women get pregnant we never have rest of mind until they deliver their babies safely.
“You have seen that yourself, there is no clinic and other social amenities here in Maiyola, and this village has been in existence for over 40 years. We are only living here on the mercy of God,’’ the community leader said.

Dwight Yorke has hailed the impact of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford and says the Manchester United striker is ‘more of a threat’ than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Lukaku has made a stunning start to his career at United following his £75million move from Everton, scoring five goals in his first five Premier League games for his new club.
Yorke, who won three titles during his spell at United, insists he is not surprised by the impact Lukaku has made under Jose Mourinho.
‘He was the one [signing] I’ve always called for,’ Yorke, 45, told talkSPORT.
‘He has been very consistent in the last three years, he has got hunger and desire to play football and he is always a threat whenever he plays.

‘I felt going to Man United would make him a better player, just like it did for me. I felt like we got the right man and for the first five games he has proven that.
‘He has made a fantastic contribution to the team and what he has brought is a goalscoring threat that we have been missing.
‘Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] did it last season for us in many respects, but Lukaku is more of a threat because he is looking to run behind.’
Lukaku was one of three summer arrivals at the Theatre of Dreams along with Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof.

And Yorke believes Mourinho has moulded a ‘very balanced’ team capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
‘United in the past has always been able to score from all angles and it seems like this team we are assembling now has the capability,’ the legendary forward added.
