Tragedy: A Man Suddenly Dies While Digging Grave Of An Old Woman In Ebonyi state

Tragedy struck in Onunwankwo village, Umuhuali community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, as a 29-year-old man, Ifeanyi Nwafor, who was digging the grave of an elderly woman, suddenly slumped an died. 



Narrating the incident to newsmen, Mr. Nonso Ekuma, who is a member of the Youth Assembly in the area, disclosed the deceased who is from Azuegu village, participated in all the burial activities of the deceased woman, Madam Alioke Mgbanya, before his death.


“At dawn, Ifeanyi Nwafor participated in the digging of the grave for the burial of the old woman, and that was where he met his death.

“Nwafor had participated in the drinking episode of the wake keep till dawn, when they began to prepare the grave before the arrival of the Parish priest to bury the dead woman.

“When Nwafor got into the grave with a digger, he dug two times and on the third round could not bring down the digger, but slumped and died inside the grave" he said.
He further disclosed that all effort to revive late married driver and father of two, proved abortive, which includes warming his feet with fire. The deceased has however been buried at the Azuegu village Umuhuali.

Man bits off his in-law's finger for scattering his marriage


A 27-year-old, Oluwaseyi Omoniyi, has vented his anger on his mother-in-law, Yinka Onigbinde, over her involvement in the challenges his marriage was facing by allegedly bitten off one of her fingers in his home in Lagos during a scuffle.




P.M .EXPRESS gathered that Omoniyi bite her finger hard to the extent that part of it fell down and could not be replaced back.



The incident happened at Omoniyi’s residence at 14 Wale Adebayo Street, Pipeline, Idimu, Lagos. It was gathered that the mother-in-law went to Omoniyi’s house to take away her daughter`s property after she had reportedly encouraged her to leave her husband.


Our correspondent learnt that Omoniyi who hails from Kogi State married his wife from Ondo State and after their first child, they started having issues over interference by the wife’s family before the incident happened.


The mother-in-law was taken to the hospital after serious injury from Omoniyi’s action. The matter was reported to the police who arrested and detained Omoniyi.


At the station Omoniyi told the police that the victim was interfering in his marriage, a situation that led to the collapse of the marriage and the wife packed out of his house.


He said when his wife moved out, she left some of her property, but the mother-in-law still came around to take them away.


P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was during the disagreement and dragging of the property that the victim pointed her finger into his mouth and with anger he bite off one of the fingers.


He was charged before a Magistrate court sitting in Ejigbo with assault under the Criminal Code .


He pleaded not guilty .


The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.A. Fashola, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two surties in the like sum.


He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail conditions.The matter was adjourned till 10 April 2017.

A young boy lost his life while dragging phone with suspected cultists

An innocent teenager has been killed by men suspected to be cultists in Agbarho ughelli north LGA Delta state.



The sad incident happened on Monday 20th, when some group of boys suspected to be cultists, attacked a young boy, took his phone, and tried running away But the boy tried dragging the phone with them resulting in his being stabbed to death by the men.


The cultists ran away after that but were given a hot chase by some vigilante in the area who later caught two of the criminals and handed them over to the police.

The family of the slain teenager are demanding for justice as they cannot believe their son was killed because of a phone.
