The former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, state governors and other political office holders to dump bullet proof cars and use the money to provide electricity and other social amenities for their people.
Speaking in Owerri, the former governor wondered why political office holders opted for bullet proof cars while in office.
He made it clear that the eight years he spent in office as governor, he never used bullet proof car because he believed nobody was after his life, stressing that only God can kill him.
“As the governor of Abia State, I never used bulletproof cars. Even up till now, I am not using bullet proof cars. I made use of buses as governor and I am still using buses up till now.
“I don’ t believe anybody can kill me except God. Instead of spending huge money on buying expensive bulletproof cars, governors should use the money and provide electricity and other social amenities for their people,”  Orji Kalu urges Buhari, governor and other political office holders in Nigeria

Know why this man killed his friend over #200 n Ogun state

Ndubusi Kalu a security guard, has been arrested after he
allegedly stabbed his friend over N200 in Ogun State.
The duo reportedly had a misunderstanding over the
deceased, Simeon Chidi’s refusal to provide the said amount
as contribution to buy an electric fuse.
According to reports, Chidi and Kalu were so close that they
cooked and ate together and were preparing a breakfast on
Saturday when a disagreement broke out between them over
a faulty fuse.
The fuse that supplied electricity to five apartments,
including the two friends’, had tripped off, causing power
outage.
The suspect reportedly lamented the outage as he wanted to
see a movie when the fault occurred. The five affected
residents were said to have agreed to contribute N200 each
to pay an electrician, who would fix the fuse.
Kalu, 30, said he had asked Chidi to contribute N200 for the
repair, but the victim declined.
He then allegedly stabbed him with a shard of bottle in the
neck and back during the fight, which lasted for about 30
minutes in their residence on Saula Sanni Street, Agbado,
area of the state.
Kalu was paraded before newsmen on Monday during which
he confessed to the crime, blamed it on the devil.
Kalu said: “I told him we had to fix the fault on time because
I wanted to watch television and relax at home. When we
were unable to raise the N1,000, the electrician asked us to
pay N500.
“When Chidi could not produce the money, saying the money
was with somebody and that the person had gone out, he
threatened to beat me with a charm if I disturbed him again.
“That was how we started exchanging words. He picked a
knife and asked me to come outside.
“As I was struggling to collect the knife from him, he injured
me in the hand and leg. I also smashed a bottle and we
started fighting again.
“People were many watching us, but nobody came to
separate us.
“It was after I stabbed him in the back that one man called
Baba Sheri came to separate us. I didn’t intend to kill him. It
was the devil’s handiwork,” Kalu noted, pleading to be
pardoned.
Parading the suspect, the state Police Public Relations
Officer, PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the corpse of the
victim has since been deposited at the morgue.
He added that the suspect will be made to face the wrath of
the law.

Ibrahimovic says he needs a break after hectic festive schedule

Zlatan Ibrahimovic,  a well know Manchester United striker has said he
would need to “regain his energy" after the “crazy”
Christmas schedule.
The 35-year-old has been in fine form for the Red Devils and
helped the team win three games in the space of eight days
over the festive period.
Ibrahimovic, who is playing his first year in English football
after being used to winter breaks in Holland, Italy, Spain and
France, said: “The Christmas schedule, it’s a little crazy, but
that’s the way it is.
“We just have to adjust in the best possible way. It’s the first
time for me. I’ll have to re-energise myself in the best
possible way. But, there are a lot of games.
“We’re in a good moment right now. We’ve got five or six
wins in a row and games when we’ve done what we’re
supposed to do. It’s just, the other teams up there, they don’t
make mistakes, they don’t drop points.
“I think we saw some tired legs at West Ham. Two days, two
games [Man United played on Saturday, then again 48 hours
later], it’s not easy to play then. But we won. We got the
three points we wanted, we’re satisfied with that.”
Ibrahimovic has scored 18 goals this season, including 12 in
his last 12 games.
