Army General Escapes Lynching By Hungry Soldiers | See Reasons

The General Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Army 7 Division in Maimalari, Victor Ezegwu, escaped being lynched by rampaging Nigerian soldiers on Friday morning.
Details of the attempted assault on Ezegwu, a major general, by troops attached to Operation Rescue Finale in Sambisa Forest, came a day after he denied PT report about a mutiny on the battlefront.
The troops were enraged over poor welfare arrangement (leaving them without food) and alleged deceit by their commanders, sources recounted.
According to Premium Times, they accused the commander of leaving them to fight for two days without food. The incident occurred in Sambisa Forest on Friday morning.
Most of the soldiers involved in the mutiny were deployed to Sambisa from 21 Brigade in Bama.
PT obtained new details of the incident on Saturday, that show that the soldiers went from 9:00a.m. on December 14 till 6:00p.m. on December 15 — more than 24 hours — without food.
When General Ezegwu eventually arrived in a helicopter bearing foods and other supplies on Friday morning, the troops swooped on him and scavenged the snacks, food and water he brought. They removed all the supplies, including parts for operational vehicles and other equipment, before moving towards the GOC in an attempt to attack him, sources said.
“The GOC escaped being lynched because he was immediately shoved into an aircraft and whisked away from the area,” a source said.
With their target having escaped, the troops began sporadic firing, sources said. They also rained curses on their commander.
The gallant soldiers in the battle field have also complained that someone is reducing their money.

Abolish Shariah if you don’t like Christian courts — CAN fires back at Muslims

Samson Ayokunle
The General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Musa Asake, has stated that Muslims have no right to kick against a proposed bill to establish Christian courts across Nigeria.
The House of Representatives on Tuesday in Abuja passed for second reading, a bill to provide for the establishment of the Ecclesiastical Court of Appeal in the country.
Following the development, many persons, especially the Muslim have community kicked against it.
Reacting to the attacks and criticisms trailing the bill, Asake said if the Muslims were not comfortable with the bill, they should also abolish Shariah.
On why they want to establish Christian court, the CAN scribe told Punch that, “We have tolerated them enough. People should choose their words wisely. The ecclesiastical courts have nothing to do with them. They should make room for peace. Fulani herdsmen have been maiming and killing our people.
“When we cry out, what we hear is that those herdsmen are foreigners. We are left with no one to cry to. All we can do right now is to cry out to our God. If those people are foreigners and are allowed to carry AK-47 rifles and kill people who are citizens of the country, what does that tell you about those in charge of this country? I forgive whoever thinks the proposed bill to have Christian courts established across the country is a stupid idea.
“Why didn’t they stop the implementation of Shariah? Why are they trying to force Shariah on people who are not Muslims? If they want to stop the ecclesiastical courts, then they should let the Shariah laws and courts be abolished,” he added.
