According to a Facebook user identified as Prince Gwanishu Harrison, who posted the heartbreaking photos on social media, some inmates at the Delta State Prisons, are currently malnourished and suffering from all kinds of life-threatening ailments.

The man who recently paid a visit to the facility revealed that even with the inmates’ conditions, there were no drugs in the medical facility, some are dying of hunger, some can’t urinate and some can’t even stand for 10 minutes.

I Have Done Well As President – Barack Obama

Outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama has given himself a pass mark, telling Americans that he has done well in office as president in the last eight years.
Obama, who made the remarks in his final press conference of the year, justified his actions on issues ranging from the economy to Syria, and from the Russia hacking scandal to the passage of Obamacare.
“I am very proud of the work I’ve done. I think I’m a better president now than when I started,” Obama said.
The president said his administration is a historic success, in spite of a rough beginning.
“When I came into office, 44 million people were uninsured. Today, we have covered more than 20 million of them. For the first time in our history, more than 90 per cent of Americans are insured.”
The President recalled the economic turmoil raging when he took office in the teeth of the worst recession in decades in 2009.
“As I was preparing to take office, the unemployment rate was on its way to 10 per cent. Today it is at 4.6 per cent, the lowest in nearly a decade.”
Obama also rrcalled, for the umpteenth time, the slaying of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, and noted that he had brought 165,000 troops home.
“What I can say with confidence is that what we’ve done works. That I can prove.
“I can show you where we were in 2008 and I can show you where we are now. And you can’t argue that we are not better off. We are,” the two-term U.S. president said.
Obama explained that he had always had the best of motives and that where he had failed, it was often owing to a lack of better choices.
He noted the helpless horror at the human carnage in Aleppo, and admitted that he agonised over Syria more than any other issue.
“I always feel responsible. There are places around the world where horrible things are happening and because of my office, because I’m President of the United States, I feel responsible.
“I ask myself every single day, ‘Is there something I could do that would save lives and make a difference and spare some child who doesn’t deserve to suffer?’”
Obama, however, believed only a massive deployment by an already exhausted American military could have turned the tide.
According to him, the only choice, therefore, was to use diplomacy to stem the bloodletting.
“I cannot claim that we have been successful. That’s something that, as is true with a lot of issues and problems around the world, I have to go to bed with every night.
“But I continue to believe that it was the right approach given what realistically we could get done,” he said.
Obama also rebuffed criticism that he had been slow to respond to allegations of Russian cyber-meddling in the presidential election.
“My primary concern was making sure that the integrity of the election process was not in any way damaged, at a time when anything that was said by me or anybody in the White House would immediately be seen through a partisan lens,” Obama explained.
The outgoing U.S. President also made reference to Russia meddling in the U.S. election.
He said when he met Putin in China in September, he told him to “cut it out” and pledged to hit Russia in public and covert ways before he leaves office on Jan. 20, 2017.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the Republicans who opposed him, the press who he said overly dwelt in trivialities and the coarsening of political culture.
He expressed contempt for the Republicans who are now ready to accept Trump’s admiration of Putin.
“Ronald Reagan would roll over in his grave,” he said.
He lashed out at Putin and Assad for “savage” assaults on Aleppo and was particularly disdainful of Russia itself.
“The Russians can’t change us or significantly weaken us. They are a smaller country, they are a weaker country, their economy doesn’t produce anything that anybody wants to buy except oil and gas and arms. They don’t innovate.”
Obama said that the coverage of Hillary Clinton during the campaign was troubling, noting, however, that Democrats need to show up where people are hurting.
“Democrats are characterised as coastal, liberal, latte-sipping, you know, politically correct, out-of-touch folks. We have to be in those communities.”
The President also denied tensions between him and Trump, as his own aides and those of the President-elect spar over the Russia hacking of emails belonging to the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
He said China would not stand for the President-elect’s warning that the status of Taiwan could be on the table in his “increasingly acrimonious relationship” with Beijing.
Obama warned Trump that there was a difference between campaigning and being President, adding it was a reality that Trump has yet to embrace.
He said: “I think there is a sobering process when you walk into the Oval Office,” Obama said.
“What the President-elect is going to be doing is going to be very different than what I was doing and I think people will be able to compare and contrast and make judgments about what worked for the American people.” (NAN)

‘I Can Rob Any Taxi Driver With Biscuit’- Armed Robbery Suspect Reveals (Read Full Shocking Details)

Forty-nine-year-old Garba Ibrahim, a shoe seller-turned car dealer, found a niche in the robbery world. He simply specialised in robbing taxi drivers. In fact, Ibrahim, a native of Otukpo, Benue State, believed his robbery method was so fool-proof that he did not think he could ever fail. The suspect’s simple and seemingly harmless way of dispossessing taxi drivers of their vehicles, took him across Abuja, Benue and Kogi states, where he operated until the long arm of the law caught up with him. When he was apprehended, Ibrahim, who is now being held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, told police investigators, “With only biscuit, I can rob any taxi driver. I usually lace the biscuit with drugs.” When Ibrahim was caught by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, eight vehicles were recovered from him. They were the remaining of many vehicles he stole and had yet to dispose of. Ibrahim’s last victim, whom he robbed in Abuja, reportedly provided the police with information that led to him being tracked down in his hometown of Otukpo, where he was hiding out in a car dealership filled with cars from his victims. A police source said Ibrahim had robbed the victim after giving him tea and biscuit that had been laced with drugs. Ibrahim said in the statement he made to police investigators that he was married with four children and started his criminal activities just few months ago, when he realised robbing taxi drivers was not that difficult. The suspect said he discovered the method of drugging taxi drivers by chance. He said, “It all started when I chartered a cab from Makurdi to Gboko. On the way, I stopped over at a restaurant to buy food, part of which I offered to the driver. We bought Semovita and drove to a place and started eating. He started feeling dizzy. “I then took out his floor mat from the car and told him to sleep on it. But before he slept off, I took the car key. As soon as he slept off, I drove the car, a Volkswagen Golf 3 to Otukpo and I sold it to a man called Chiama for N500,000. “Fourteen days after I robbed that driver, I travelled to Abuja and boarded another cab. I asked the driver to take me to Sheraton Hotel. I paid him when we got there and asked him to wait so he could take me back. I entered the hotel to make him think I was rich. But I went to the pool side and sat there for some time.” Ibrahim said after a while, he went out to meet the driver and told him to take him to another hotel. When they got there, he said he paid for a room and told the driver to follow him inside to collect his fare. The suspect said, “Once inside the room, I told him I needed to eat something fast and asked if he wanted something to eat too. I brought out bread and biscuit from my bag. I had already put some sleeping drugs on them. “I took one of the biscuits and gave the rest to him, which he took and ate. Soon after, he slept off. I then took his key and left with the key. I drove the vehicle to Kano State and I sold it to one Abdulrahman for N600,000.” However, the police said Ibrahim’s undoing was his last victim’s phones, which he took away and gave out as gifts to his in-laws. He was said to have given one of the phones to his mother-in-law, and the other to his sister-in-law, who were none-the-wiser about the criminal activities of their benefactor. As soon as Ibrahim’s victim gave vital information to enable the police to track the phones, the mother-in-law and her daughter were quickly located. Soon after, they led the police to Ibrahim. The police have said Ibrahim would soon be charged to court as soon as investigation is complete. Meanwhile, IRT operatives have also arrested Saturday Jackson, one of the leaders of Port Harcourt’s notorious gangs, the Islanders. Jackson had allegedly led the Islanders on many kidnappings and cult-related killings in the Rivers State capital and other adjoining cities. Saturday PUNCH learnt that when Jackson was arrested at Abuah area of Port Harcourt, a locally made rifle and a pump-action gun were recovered from him. A police source explained that the IRT had received many complaints about the violent activities of Jackson’s gang, which had also become a source of worry to the Rivers State Government. The violence of the gang was intensified because it is said to be locked in a supremacy battle with a rival gang, the Greenlanders. “His boys have coordinated several armed robberies around the state. Acting on information about him, we were able to piece together a strategy that allowed us to track him down and arrest him,” the police source said. Jackson, who is now answering questions on the activities of his gang, explained that his gang operated with two pump-action rifles and two Dane guns. “Our main activity was kidnapping. We kidnapped two people in February, Mr. Solo and Mr. Barrister. They are both from Abuah. Solo paid N200,000 as ransom while Barrister paid N500,000. “Before we became kidnappers, we were actually vigilantes. I was employed by one of the men we kidnapped in February but when he refused to pay my boys and I, we kidnapped him.” Jackson said he and members of his gang recently submitted some of their arms when an amnesty was announced by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. He denied ever killing anybody during his gang’s operations but explained that he and his men were always at war with the Greenlanders. The IRT Commander, Mr. Abba Kyari has said efforts are still being made to track down other members of Jackson’s gang.

The parents of a critically ill six-year-old girl threw her the fairy tale wedding of her dreams in China two days ago. According to DailyMail, Shi Haiqing walked down the aisle to ‘Here Comes the Bride’ to ‘marry’ her Prince Charming, who just happens to be her father. At her hospital ward in Tai’an, Shandong Province, Haiqing was dressed up as Snow White for the bittersweet occasion and her father dressed up as a prince.

Shi Xinzhan wedded his daughter in a make-believe ceremony attended by doctors, nurses and other patients in the hospital. He wasn’t sure if his daughter will grow up to have her dream wedding.

Haiqing suffers from nephrotic syndrome which causes the kidneys to leak large amounts of protein into the urine.

She has taken hormones the past three months which caused her to rapidly gain weight. She gained 13lbs total which drastically altered her appearance, especially in her face.

The hospital had sent Haiqing’s parents two ‘critically ill’ notices over ten days. Nephrotic syndrome can lead to swelling, infections, urine changes and blood clots.

The sick girl was ‘Princess Haiqing’ for a day and danced with her father in front of a balloon heart backdrop, DailyMail adds.
